| 1981 |
Mitsubishi Electric Ireland began trading in Dublin,
operating as a branch of the UK office. The branch achieved
a turnover of £IR1m in first year of trading.

| 1982 |
In our second year of operations in Ireland, turnover
grew to £IR4.5m, indicative of the Irish consumers
need for high quality electronic products.

| 1984 |
Our consumer products, TVs and Videos, achieved market
leadership in Ireland. In that same year we invested
in and established an OEM unit to meet the intense demand
in the rapidly growing computer industry for monitors,
disk drives and other equipment.

| 1985 |
We added an Industrial Division to our already prospering
Irish branch. This division aimed to meet the needs
of our industrial customers by providing energy saving
components such as inverters and programmable logic
controllers.

| 1987 |
Our heritage of innovation and evolution, in tune
with emerging technologies, was consolidated when we
launched Mitsubishi Electric Cellular Mobile Phones
into the Irish market.

| 1989 |
Another dominant facet of Mitsubishi Electric Ireland
achieved market leadership. This time it was our Air
Conditioning and Ventilation units, which led the Irish
market.

| 1992 |
We relocated to a new, purpose-built, state-of-the-art
headquarters building at Westgate Business Park in Ballymount,
Dublin 24.

| 1993 |
Mitsubishi Electric gained official recognition for
quality of service and quality of products by achieving
the ISO 9002 accreditation. This is the model for Quality
Assurance in Production, Installation and Servicing
and it applies to all areas of our Irish operation.

| 1994 |
Our drive and expansion continued when we launched
into the PC and Peripheral market in Ireland.
|
| 1995 |
Introduced video-tapes, manufactured in Ireland,
into the Irish market. Within a single year of trading
Mitsubishi Video tapes became the number one brand of
tapes in Ireland.

| 1996 |
Mitsubishi Electric Europe was established, allowing
each business unit to report to a European business
head. Mitsubishi Electric Ireland was chosen, as part
of a pilot project, to implement a System Application
Products (SAP) system, in advance of installing the
system in all other branches.

| 1997 |
Fergus Madigan, President of Mitsubishi Electric
Ireland, was appointed to the European Board of Directors
at Mitsubishi Electric.

| 1998 |
A major initiative saw the launch of the Mitsubishi
Black Diamond range in Ireland.
|
| 1999 |
Black Diamond becomes a huge success story with both
Black Diamond CTV and VCR achieving market leadership.
|
| 2002 |
Digital security and photographic printers were launched
onto the Irish market further enhancing Mitsubishi Electric
Ireland already impressive portfolio of products.
|
| 2004 |
Mitsubishi Electric Ireland’s annual trade
show saw the launch of the Black Diamond LCD TV range
further improving an already superior range of products.
In the digital photographic industry Mitsubishi Electric
launched the cutting edge Photo Kiosk range. Again this
demonstrated the commitment of Mitsubishi Electric to
introducing new and innovative products into the Irish
market.
