Community Involvement
Our
Community - Sharing our Success “A sharing society built
upon compassion” Mitsubishi Corporation “Doing
well by doing good” is a crucial element in the Mitsubishi
Electric philosophy. At Mitsubishi Electric Ireland, we use
our resources to support and interact with our local community.
We create and participate in initiatives, which allow us to
‘put something back’; helping to create active,
valued communities and allow others to share in our success
Mitsubishi Electric Ireland was the proud sponsor of a National
Golf Club Challenge in aid of the 2003 Special Olympics World
Summer Games. In June 2003, the Games, the world’s largest
sporting event that year, took place for the first time outside
the United States and Ireland was the venue of choice. Over
7,000 athletes, 2000 coaches and 28,000 families and friends
came to Ireland to witness a truly world class sporting event.
Every year Mitsubishi Electric in association with the Links
Golfing Society holds the Joe Dolan Golf Classic in aid of
different charities each year. Last year over £50,000
was raised in aid of The Mater Foundation and Co-operation
Ireland.
Mitsubishi Electric also sponsors the Irish Times ‘Sportswoman
of the Month’ recognising individual sporting excellence
by Ireland’s sportswomen. Recent winners have included
the legendary runner, Sonia O’Sullivan.
